The center keyboard area can be visibly pressed in with a little force, but this does not translate to limitations in practice, even for very energetic typists. The stability of the base unit is good, but not outstanding. Surfaces feel minimally roughened or velvety, but a positive aspect is that we had considerably fewer problems with fingerprints during our review than in many other ThinkPads. For example, a fiberglass/magnesium combination is used for the baseplate and carbon/glass-fiber reinforced plastic for the lid. In addition to the black/anthracite color variant, Lenovo also offers a silver variant with silver input devices.Ī mix of materials are used for the case. Compared to contemporary consumer laptops, the edges are still quite wide at 8 mm on the sides and 14 mm above and below the panel, but the device now looks much more modern overall. Our review sample is the ThinkPad T14 G3-21CF004NGE model with an AMD Ryzen U, an integrated Radeon 680M GPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM, a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and a 14-inch display in 16:10 format with a resolution of 1920x1200. The manufacturer continues to offer models with AMD and Intel CPUs, but the differences go a little further, the technical details of which will be revealed in the course of our review. Lenovo is now introducing an extensive redesign in the new T14 G3, including a new case that is now once again equipped with a 16:10 panel.
